this is how we spend our time:

  work

  consuming

  waiting

  pretending

  escapes & diversions

  believing

what:

"this is how we spend our time" is a six-month project to catalog, through art, the experiences, small and large, that make up our existence and fill the days of our lives. This theme is explored in six installments, each focusing on a specific aspect of modern life as interpreted through art, literature, poetry, photography, music, performance and installation.

Artists, writers, musicians, philosophers, and others who think and who have something to say are welcome to submit existing or new work, in any media, fitting any of these topics either literally or figuratively.

where & when:

This website will serve as an online gallery to exhibit the works as they are produced. one topic will open each month from February through July 2007. The openings will coincide with First Friday events in Portland, and the culmination of the project will be a gallery show displaying the eclectic narrative that emerges, tentatively scheduled for September 2007.

why:

because we create things, and it is best when people can see these things, and interact with them. because we are interested in unique representations of universal truths and interesting viewpoints; in the epic and the intimate; in the concepts of time, relationships, change and paradox; in the creative and in the literal.
